Kaempfer Kompetition

My husband is a little bit of a geek (in a good way!), and he likes to put models together and paint them, which of course I support, being his wife and all. So, when he asked me to take some pictures of a model which took months to modify, paint, and put together for a competition, I was honored to do that for him. It was strange working with a model with an infinite amount of patience, though. I don't usually get to put my models in dozens of different positions! We don't know if he won yet, but here are a few pics...

Engagement Session 07.01.07

I met Chris & Christine Sunday morning for their engagement session at Pittock Mansion. It was quite bright out, but the weather was gorgeous. The flowers and trees were so beautiful it was difficult to decide which images should be color and which ones B&W. I had a great time walking around with them and am looking forward to shooting their wedding next month! Here's a few that caught my eye...

Thanks for looking!

06.17.07

I shot Jeff and Elizabeth's engagement session a while back, and Jeff made us laugh non-stop, so I knew the wedding would be a blast. They had their ceremony and reception in the Raven's Nest at the beautiful Timberline Lodge. It was pretty chilly, but luckily it didn't rain on us, so we were able to take pictures in front of Mt. Hood. Congratulations you two! Here's some of my favorites from the day...

06.16.07

I had another double header this past weekend. My first couple, Kara and Jason were married on Saturday at the Acadian Ballroom in Portland. It was a long day, but I loved being there for Kara getting ready through the reception. Congratulations! I hope you have a great honeymoon in Costa Rica! Since it was an 8 hour day, I'm going to post a few extra pics than usual, it was just too hard to narrow it down to a select few...

Look at those beautiful eyes!

"I DO!"

The Groom...

I sure do love my cloud pictures...

The kiss...

I love this one, it's so simple, but they just look so happy...

They are very detailed oriented, like me, so I tried to capture every detail they put so much effort into...

For the kids...

Jason telling Kara how amazing she looks (he was right)...

I love it when couples do slideshows at the reception, they bring tears to my eyes!

My anniversary! 06.13.07

Well, it was finally my turn to have my anniversary! My husband, Spencer, and I have been married for 3 happy years now, but I realized we haven't had any decent pictures of us together since our wedding! We also never had an engagement session, which I regret, so just before we went out to dinner with our two boys (we went out just the two of us last weekend), I set up the tripod and took a few quick snaps in front of our house. Someday I'd like to go out with a fellow photographer and get some more candid, engagement session-type photos taken of us, but these will do for now!

06.02.07

Paul & Julie were married at Oaks Pioneer Church in Sellwood, then celebrated at Portland City Grill downtown, with a great view of the Rose Parade (oh yeah, and downtown Portland!). I had a great time with Julie and Paul, they were very laid back and just let me do my thing, with a few formals in between. I'm disappointed I won't be able to see them to give them their prints, but I hope their move to Boston goes well. It was very difficult to pick just a few select images, but here's some I liked. Congratulations you two, and I hope your new journey together will be filled with happiness and adventure! Travel safe!

Details...

1st look (this one almost brought tears to my eyes!)...

Hope I wasn't in the picture, lol...

Why is the bride laughing so hysterically during the ceremony, you ask? Because her cell phone went off in the middle of it!...

Outside Portland City Grill for a few quick snaps...

Just had to get a picture amongst the construction! (you have to be a Portland resident to understand)...

What a view!...
