Out of the Office!

The next few weeks I'll be in and out of my office, so I just wanted to let everyone know that it may take a little longer to get back to you and fulfill orders. I'm getting ready to take the kids to the beach tomorrow to play with Spencer's cousins & their kids that came into town. Then I'll be in on Wednesday, editing images, answering e-mails, fulfilling orders, and preparing to go back to the beach on Thursday for Tiffany & Jason's wedding. Friday obviously is a holiday, so I'll be BBQ'ing with the fam (and will try NOT to sit at the computer, but I'm sure I will at least part of the day). :) Saturday I'm shooting Nick & Renee's wedding at Mt. Tabor. The week of the 6th I'll be editing like crazy because I have the 12th & 13th off to relax, but I'm also taking that entire next week off (13th-18th). I will be answering e-mails, but will not be available for any shoots or meetings.

FYI, I am completely booked until October 25th, but have a couple e-sessions I need to schedule, however, I will not be doing anymore sessions in August or September.

Thank you for your understanding and patience. I will work hard, rest up, and be refreshed to finish off the season. :) I hope your summer is going well, and you are able to find time to spend with your loved ones.

Theresa & Long ~ 06.28.08

Theresa & Long had a traditional Vietnamese ceremony at Theresa's Uncle's house yesterday morning. Me, with my pale skin, red hair, and huge cameras, I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb, but everyone made me feel very welcome. It was a challenge to follow along since I hadn't been to a Vietnamese wedding since I was a kid, but I went with the flow, and everything worked out just fine. Afterward, Spencer joined us for a photo shoot downtown in the 104 degree weather! Theresa & Long, as well as their bridal party, never complained once about the insane heat, and we were even able to have some fun. Theresa, Long, Spencer & I even snuck into an apartment courtyard across from Tanner Springs Park, but luckily we didn't get caught, and I love the images we got in there. Then, Spencer & I went and had some lunch in NW Portland, and made up most of this slide show for the reception which started at about 6p.

I hope you watch it, especially if you've never been to a Vietnamese ceremony before. It looked awesome with larger images on my laptop, but if I make it any bigger on here it gets covered up by the menu on the right. So, until I figure out how to fix that, I apologize!

Thanks for looking!

Pace Mobile DJ

I couldn't find Leslie's business card when I wrote Karli & Nick's post, so now that I've found it, I definitely want to thank him for making the reception an awesome party, as well as helping my job go so much more smoothly. I've worked with Leslie and his wife, Barbara, before, and I definitely would recommend them if you're looking for a kick-ass DJ! Check out the Pace Mobile website!

Here's a pic of Karli & Nick's officiant showing them some love!

Hope you're having a great week!

Aimee & Jason's E-Session ~ 06.22.08

I shot a fantastic engagement/"day in the life of" session on Sunday. Aimee & Jason wanted something a little different than the normal engagement session. I was totally stoked when they told me what they wanted to do because I thought it was such a great idea, and loved how they thought outside the box. They invited me to their house in Forest Grove, and I took pictures of them being themselves (after drinking some very delicious wine!). I've already been asking couples to choose a place that is special to them, and this shoot is a great example of that.

We started off in their garden...

Then had some fun in the hammocks...

One of my faves...

My other fav...

Hung out and talked on the deck...

Captured them in front...

There was some awesome light coming in through the trees...

Then went inside and made a scrumptious dinner...

I loved their silliness...

I took some pics of them serving dinner, then they made :) me sit down with them, and shared some good wine and conversation. It was so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know them better. On the wedding day I'll definitely feel like more of a friend than the hired help (I will still do my job, of course!).

Thanks you guys, for letting me into your home for the evening. I can't wait for the wedding day!

Thanks for looking!

Jessica & Greg ~ 06.21.08

I had my first bride named Jessica on Saturday, which was a little weird at first. I kept turning around every time someone said our name...everyone was whispering about how beautiful I looked (ok, probably not about me...). Jessica & Greg got married at a private residence in Estacada, with a view of Mt. Hood. Jessica was such a beautiful and sweet bride, and they both made the day go by so fast. Congratulations you two, and I hope you have a great time in Hawaii!

Scott & Rebecca's Engagement Session ~ 06.19.08

Scott and Rebecca chose to do their engagement session at the rose test garden in Washington Park. It was such a nice night. The sun had already gone over the hill, but it was the perfect temperature, and they were both so easy going. I can't wait for their vineyard wedding in August!
